We received excellent service from Moore and Sons. Our small back garden was constantly flooded, and grass wouldn’t grow. They dug down and removed 4 inches of soil and put aggregate paving slabs down. A small area was turned into a rock garden to accommodate the triangular shape of the lot. Picket fencing and gate to finish everything off. The crew was prompt, efficient, and friendly. Very professional and reliable. Highly recommend them!

These guys blew me away! We’ve had a drainage issue in our yard for a few years. There was a gravel strip that separated our house perimeter from the paver patio and it was supposed to function as a French drain to divert away water from the entire roof surface. Unfortunately, various organic matters flushed down from the roof kept turning the drain line into more of a mud pit, resulting in constant water pooling in our yard. Also, a slope in our yard led rainwater to our sprinkler system box, filling it up all the time.

Moore and Sons came highly recommended by a friend who’s used them previously for almost all exterior yard work and I couldn’t be more satisfied with their work. They not only professionally installed over 40’ long trench drain, but also completely redid two catch-basins that were settling into the ground and re-leveled a large area of our patio that was sinking. And best of all, they hand-mixed and crafted a custom concrete border piece that now redirects water into a trench drain, rather than a sprinkler control box.

They showed up at 7:30 sharp and cleaned up spotless after each day. Very friendly team of pros and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is seeking a trustworthy contractor for their outdoor renovation work.

My wife and I are very pleased with the projects that Don Moore and Sons have completed for us. Our engagement with Don began following the installation of a driveway in our neighbourhood. When asked, my neighbour provided high praise for the work they did and so contact was made, discussions ensued and over the past two years an old fence that included brick pillars was removed, a concrete breezeway and entrance was replaced, and the final project was removal and replacement of an asphalt driveway.

Communication with Don from the outset was extremely good, and in every step of the projects we received clear and reasonable estimates and explanations of how the work would be completed. His crews worked hard, and demonstrated skill at the tasks they were performing. They were also personable, perhaps to some degree because it is a family business and although I never asked I believe his employees have been with the company for awhile. They seemed committed to doing a great job.

One portion of the concrete breezeway did develop a crack and although it wasn't large it was in a high profile section. After review Don was quick to agree to replace the section, and in a manner that likely prevents future cracking. Technically because the crack was not large there was no obligation to do this, but there was no hesitation on Don's part.

Although it is impossible to predict the longevity of any project I am confident in the quality of work provided, and my confidence stems in part from informative discussions with Don, observations of the work done by his crew, the communication re estimates and billing from the office and of course the finished product.

Recently we had a major snowfall (30cm) of snow and so of course the snow shovel got quite a bit of use. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was a pleasure but shoveling our new driveway was so much easier than shoveling the old driveway with its dips and cracks. Also, the street view of our home is so much better without the old fence, and we no longer have to use scatter mats to address the hazards created by the sinking concrete.

In summary, our experience with Moore and Sons has been very positive! We recommend them without reservation and should we have further projects that fall within their scope we would be calling on them again.

Moore & Sons created a beautiful backyard for us in October 2023. Don was great to work with from the beginning. Nathalie in the office was always patient and professional with all of my scheduling questions. The crew showed up on time every morning at first light (~7am) and were finished every day by 3:30pm.

They helped us move the hot tub off the concrete and they even helped us protect some underground piping/electrical wiring. Amazing Crew! If we need any other renovations done on our property we will definitely call Moore & Sons again.

Being an owner of a trades company, I had high demands and the guys nailed it. They replaced a 50-plus-year-old driveway with a new paver driveway with an intricate border and the finish is stunning. Great job to the whole team!

My house is built into a hill with a steep slope. Over the last seven years I have used Moore & Sons three times:

- The first time, to replace an existing pressure-treated wood wall that was rotting away.
- The second time, to install stairs and a retaining wall to improve access to the back of my yard
- This last time, to install retaining walls on my back hill to create a more level area for a vegetable garden.

Each project was professionally handled from start to finish. Any issues that arose during the projects were dealt with to my satisfaction. If the back hill needs more retaining walls in the future, I will not hesitate to call on Moore & Sons again.

This is the second job that Don and his crew have done at my residence. I am convinced after having Moore and Sons do two jobs at my home there is no better. Friendly, dependable, professional and experienced make this company a winner. Don, the owner was the first contact for both jobs. Something to be said when the owner is the person who reviews and explains the work from beginning to end.

I am completely satisfied with Moore and Sons and would not hesitate to recommend them.
