As long-time Langley residents, we are big fans of The Hardbean Brunch restaurant in our neighborhood. The coffee's strong, the eggs are fluffy, and the atmosphere is delightfully chaotic—just the way brunch should be. So when they decided to relocate their massive, can't-miss-it signpost, we were more than happy to help. Again. And again. And—yep—again.

You see, we just finished pouring a concrete column on which the vibrant signs post will sit. But here's the kicker: this is the third time we've built a column for this same signpost, in the same general area, for the same restaurant. If it feels like déjà vu... it's because it is.

Round one? The original location came courtesy of some snazzy architectural drawings—unfortunately, they planted the sign on the wrong side of the designated location. Not ideal unless you're trying to confuse brunch-goers into wandering across the street.

Round two? We were sent to a new spot, supposedly foolproof this time. And it was... until we realized the signpost was sticking out 1 foot and 7 inches over the property line. Not exactly subtle. On top of that, it narrowed the adjacent walkway to less than 36 inches—aka, an accessibility nightmare and a building code buzzkill.

Cue the engineers and architects returning to their proverbial napkins and pencils for round three. This time, we've got our fingers crossed, our tape measures triple-checked, and our concrete poured with cautious optimism.

Here's hoping third time's the charm—and the sign can finally stand tall, proud, and stationary for many brunches to come.
