Moore and Sons recently completed a smooth finish concrete driveway replacement in the Murrayville neighborhood of Langley, featuring a decorative border cut for a clean, finished appearance.
The original driveway had extensive cracking and lifting caused by the roots of a large street tree. Over time, the root growth created uneven panels, resulting in trip hazards and an unsightly surface. After the City removed the problematic tree, our team began the full driveway replacement process.
The existing driveway was removed, followed by excavation of approximately 4 inches of subgrade. We then installed and compacted 4 inches of 3/4” clear crush gravel to provide a solid foundation for the new concrete.
During demolition of the front stairs, we discovered several rotten boards beneath the structure. To ensure long-term durability, the damaged boards were replaced and protected with a peel-and-stick membrane before forming and preparing the driveway for concrete placement.
Once the preparation work was complete, the driveway and sidewalk concrete were pumped and finished with a smooth surface texture. As a final detail, our crew added a decorative border cut to enhance the overall appearance of the project.
The result is a clean, durable new driveway built to serve this busy family for many years to come.
