Located in the heart of Cloverdale, Surrey, this driveway was originally constructed in 1989. Had it not been for an underground water main rupture last year, it probably would have stood the test of time for another decade or more, despite a few cracks and a tired appearance.

Unfortunately, repairing the water main required the utility crew to chisel out a substantial section of the driveway, leaving a trench of dirt right through the middle.

At the time, we made a temporary repair by patching the trench while the homeowners completed their interior renovations and installed a new roof.

This month, it was finally time for a proper rebuild. We removed the entire driveway, entrance stairs and sidewalk, then excavated four inches of subgrade. Fresh structural fill was installed and thoroughly compacted before we built the beautifully curved forms, installed a trench drain and placed a reinforcing rebar grid.

The finishing touch was a brand-new broom-finished concrete driveway, built to last for decades.

This wasn't our first project for these homeowners, and while we always appreciate repeat customers, we're hoping this is one project where we won't be back for a very, very long time. After all, when it comes to a brand-new driveway, the best compliment is not needing us again!
